1st Locate ® employ approaching 130 staff. We operate from 6000 sq ft of purpose built Call Centre close to Leeds City centre and 2 further sites in North Yorkshire. Although we operate a number of activities via our internet operations, we are very much a 'bricks & mortar' company and welcome customers making telephone or written enquiries. We process around 250,000 telephone calls and 50,000 mail items per month and will trace well in excess of 100,000 people during 2008.
1st Locate started in the late 1980's as a department within a parent company and developed into an incorporated company in it's own right now employing approx 130 staff. We believe we are now easily the largest people search company of our type in the UK.  We keep our charges to a minimum as a result of the sheer volume of instructions that we receive. Our clients pay either £19.99 & £35.00 for a full trace investigation and are only charged if we are successful. A full trace investigation is far more than just a search of the various databases that are available to anyone on CD. Each case is fully investigated by an individual Researcher and during this process we use a number of different techniques to create leads and follow up enquiries. Some of our competitors charge around £250.00 for a service that gives a comparable success rate (in excess of 80%) and levy a fee upwards of £100 if unsuccessful! You should only instruct on a no success no fee basis. Quite simply, our business grew out of providing tracing services for Banks, Building Societies and Utility companies.
